A Taste of Sydney is on offer this week, with the best of Sydney's restaurants and chefs on show at Centennial Park. Jamie Oliver hosts a free (but sold out) picnic on Sunday night - I'm going so it will no doubt rain... my apologies.
It's not every week that a major new Australian opera has it's world premiere, but Bliss hits the Opera House on Friday. Based on the Peter Carey novel, Bliss looks like an interesting night out.
Bell Shakespeare's King Lear continues its season - also at the Opera House but this time in the Drama Theatre. Belvoir Street's That Face wraps up this weekend, and if you can get your hands on a ticket you should be well rewarded - its received rave reviews and it's entire season has sold out.
Lady GaGa's two shows at the Hordern Pavilion have been moved to the Entertainment Centre, and another night has been added for April 7. Massive Attack annoy the Toaster residents with two very loud shows in the Opera House forecourt Monday and Tuesday. Lets hope the House's sound proofing holds up as the more sedate sounds of Ravi and Anoushka Shankar will competing on the same nights.
Sydney FC hope to turn a round after a disappointing A-League finals loss last week with their do or die game against Wellington on Saturday night. Another season of Rugby League kicks off this weekend with games across town, while the more active Sydneysiders will be taking part in the Sydney Harbour Swim Classic on Sunday.
Have fun out there...
